Benny Wu, DO, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Dermatology and Director of Inpatient Dermatology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. He completed his undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of California, Irvine, followed by a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He then earned his PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology and Osteopathic Medicine degrees from Rowan University. Dr. Wu completed internal medicine internship at Drexel University College of Medicine, followed by a clinical research fellowship at Northwestern University. In 2021, he then completed his dermatology residency at Broward Health Medical Center, where he was chief resident.
Dr. Wu’s clinical interests include inpatient and complex medical dermatology — he is particularly fascinated by connective tissue disorders/collagen vascular disease, autoimmune bullous disorders, vasculitides, systemic diseases with skin findings, and cutaneous lymphomas.
In addition to his work being recognized at national dermatology conferences, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals such as the British Journal of Dermatology and Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology.
He has a true passion for dermatology and dermatology education. Dr. Wu loves to learn and believes learning is a life-long journey. He looks forward to sharing his clinical pearls and other high-yield learning points to the Figure 1 community.
